Hope for healing from life’s wounds and support to develop skills for your current season.

We know that life can have its difficult seasons, and we sometimes find ourselves lost, not knowing how to move forward. Counselling provides the safe space we need to start to make things better. Listening, supporting, skill sharing, no judgement.

ADULT CONSELLING - BEING HEARD

Adult clients can enjoy a safe and supportive space where they can find peace, while being guided through life’s challenges and transitions. Whether dealing with stress, relationships, career changes, personal growth or processing trauma, clients receive compassionate and insightful support in a confidential environment. My focus, as counsellor, is on creating a trusting and nurturing setting where clients can explore their concerns and work towards clarity and well-being.

COMPASSIONATE AND CREATIVE COUNSELLING

Recognizing that your child may need to see a counsellor can feel overwhelming. You may have many questions, and our aim is to make the counselling experience as safe, comfortable, and encouraging as possible.

Your child’s therapy will be an individualized experience filled with activities to support their expression, coping skills, and overall wellness. Our intention is to provide encouragement and empowerment for not only your child but your entire family.

Children cope with challenges differently from adults, and often don't have the emotional vocabulary to express what they feel. I aim to provide children with a safe, confidential and supportive space for children and families to express their thoughts and emotions, and to process their lived experiences.

WHAT SUPPORT MIGHT YOUR CHILD NEED?

  • Grief, loss and impact of trauma

  • Behavioral difficulties (ADHD, ODD, etc.)

  • Relationship and communication difficulties

  • Adjusting to being a new parent

  • Parental bonding difficulties

  • Separation anxiety

  • School or academic anxiety

  • Parent/caregiver relationship difficulties

  • Learning and academic related difficulties (Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, etc.)

  • Anxiety, depression, self-harm

How I can help

I have a passion to support people in resolving trauma to live from a place of peace and well-being. I provide practical tools for healthy, joy-oriented relationships for families, young people, children, partners and spouses. I also offer counselling to individuals, if they prefer to find their own path forward.

I offer counselling sessions at my practice, Hopeful Hearts Counselling in Paraparaumu, where I support individuals, children and families.

I have a trauma-informed, and compassion-focused therapeutic approach in counseling and make use of evidence-based practices, such as play therapy, art therapy, attachment counselling, somatic mindfulness and resilience-based techniques to build skills, strengths and resolve trauma.

I completed my BA Hons in Psychology in South Africa and later completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Special Needs and Behavior Therapy in Singapore. I worked as a Student Counsellor in Singapore based in a school setting, and have experience with diverse behavioral needs, learning needs, life trauma and family counselling.
